Bloodlines Chapter One

Yesterday we talked about the Vampire Academy movie, today I have some important news for you, about the upcoming Bloodlines.
Bloodlines is the first installment in the new Vampire Academy spin off series and will be released in August 23.
So here is the news: Richelle Mead announced on her blog, that the first chapter of Bloodlines is now up for all of us to read. Just follow the link on her blog.

Casting Rose Hathaway...

Well as most of you may know the Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead is supposed to be turned into a movie. This is still in the planning-phase and Preger Entertainment the once in charge said, that they want to give the fans the chance, too tell them which actors they would like to play their favorite characters.
On the official Facebook site the discussion is going on and on and on, so I decided I myself will join it.
I already casted the book when I first read it, but looking back on those decisions I have to say, most of the actors are just too old.
So I'm setting out to cast the entire book new.
And here is the first decision:

Emily Robins for Rose

 Rose is the Protagonist of the story. She is a Dhampir, half vampire and half human, which means she is trained to one day protect a Moroi, a vampire from the evil Strigoi, a different race of vampires. Her best friend Lissa is a Moroi-princess and Rose is training very hard to be the best, so she may be chosen to protect Lissa.
The only thing distracting Rose is, unfortunately, her teacher the good looking, talented, and damn far out of her reach Dimitri. Can Rose control her feelings and reach her goals, while she faces the dangers coming toward her?

I think Emily has the looks, the age and the talent to play a wonderful Rose. My first pick was Sophia Bush, but Rose is a Teenager, so I think someone a little bit younger like Emily, would fit better.

Release Date for COLS and Clockwork Prince prologue...

Here are the newest news for fans of Cassandra Clare:

On the official site for the Infernal Devices you can now find the prologue for Clockwork Prince which is the second installment in this series and will be released on December 6, 2011.

For those of you who don't know the series here is the official book-trailer of the first one Clockwork Angel:

The Infernal Devices is the Prequel to Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments series. The fifth book in that series City of Lost Souls has now a official release date: May 8, 2012.

Kiersten White Reveals title!

Kiersten White hosted an awesome challenge today:
She told us that somewhere on the internet the title for her third book, following Paranormalcy and Supernaturally was hidden. And that now the readers had to find it.
It didn't take long for anyone to find it so, the title for the third and last installment in the series is:

Endlessly.

Funny to name the last book like that... :)

One of the best books ever...

Bad Blood by Rhiannon Lassiter

Not many books leave me speechless, because I'm someone who has always something to say, about everything.
Not many books make really shiver.
Not many books make me read them in just one night without looking at the clock once.
Not many books make me turn on the light because I'm actually scared in the dark.

Bad Blood did all that and it didn't even need to try hard.

The story is not just interesting or strange it is fascinating. The book is dark mysterious and exciting up to a point where your own heart races, though you are still sitting curled up in a blanket at your favorite reading-place.
It has great characters and a great storyline, the writing is just breathtaking.
This book is not something for everyone, but nevertheless everyone should try it. It is just spellbinding, again I'm speechless.

Definitely one of the best books I have ever read.

A wolf in a human...

Garou: Ein Schaf by Leonie Swann

This is a review for a German book. It is a sequel and the first one was published in English with the title Three Bags Full

It often happens, that a sequel to a book is not as good as the first book.

Garou is totally different. A wonderful sequel to a wonderful book. Hilarious, interesting, exciting and you can even learn from it.

The sheep, we learned to love in Glennkill, are now on their big tour through Europe. With her new shepherd Rebecca and the old dog Tess. Othello is the new leader and he does his job pretty good. Unfortunately Europe is not the land of apple-trees and strange long breads like their old shepherd George told them in his stories. It is cold and it is dark and the winter is there.

A nice old lady invites them to stay over the winter on a little willow in the shadows of a huge castle and near a little village. Though they now have a shelter again their is one major minus: goats. Everyone knows that goats are insane and they smell. The sheep do not like their new neighbors very much but that (and even the fact that Mama is visiting Rebecca) grows uninteresting when the first dead deer is found.
The goats start to whisper about the Garou, a wolf that hides inside a human, and the townspeople are acting stranger and stranger. It becomes clear that Miss Maple the most intelligent sheep of the flock, maybe even in Europe, has to use her detective skills once again to keep her flock safe and find the murderer...

I can just recommend this book to everyone. It is, though sheep are the protagonists, a wonderful crime story with twists and turns, corps, police and a strange secret agent.

It is interesting to see humans, and their behaviour through the eyes of the sheep and understand how strange and unnatural we are sometimes acting.

The characters are just loveable, no matter if you look at Rebecca, Tess or one of the sheep. The whole book is just hilarious, witch takes nothing away from the arc of suspense.

A wonderful story, for old and young, for sheep-fans and those who may try it.
