Cover Love: The Chaos Of Stars and Not A Drop To Drink

Hey there :)

A lot of beautiful covers have been revealed over the last few days, I thought I'll start a little recap and show you my favourites.
The first one would be The Chaos Of Stars by Kiersten White.
All right let's just step back a moment and behold this beauty.
When I first saw this cover I was like "Awwww, I love you!" It's just so simple and still so beautiful! I love the colours and the font, the little line in the right corner is really catchy.
I especially like the effect that the blue and white look like a sky full of stars. It really fits the titel perfectly.
Have you seen the little bird in the left corner? That's one of my favourite details of the cover.

Doesn't it sound awesome?I love stories about Egyptian gods! It definitely goes onto my TBR list and I cannot wait to read it when it comes out  September 10, 2013

And I also love the cover for Not A Drop To Drink by Mindy McGinnis.
The colours! Look at the colours! I love the sky and how the dark fades into yellow. There is a really dark and gloomy atmosphere here but because of the rising sun there is also hope.
The water reflecting the scene is a great element, since the book revolves around water. Water is the only hope they have and it is the reason for their devastation, therefore it reflects both colour schemes. A great metaphorical picture. (Or maybe that's just my imagination going wild :D)
This is a great cover for a post-apocalypse book and I wanted to read Not A Drop To Drink right after I read the summary for the first time, somewhere at the end of last year.
It really does sound amazing the cover seems to fit it perfectly. The book will also be released on September 10, 2013.

Wait a minute! Both books come out on the same day? Which am I supposed to read first? That's a hard decision...
But don't forget you cannot judge a book by it's cover!

A Game of Thrones Wishlist and predictions for season 3

Hello friends and foes :)

I finished reading A Storm Of Swords the second novel in George R. R. Martin’s A Song OF Ice And Fire series a few weeks ago. It is known that the third season of HBO’s Game Of Thrones (wich is coming in march this year! I cannot wait any longer!) will cover the first part of the book.

There are a lot of great things in the book that the TV series will have to leave out or change and I understand that completely. A show tells things different than a book.

But anyway I thought I make a little wish list of what I would enjoy seeing next season and what I’m looking forward too the most:

Be aware! There will be spoilers for what is going to happen so if you do not want to read spoilers, don’t read any further!

1. Ramsay Snow

I cannot wait for the Bastard of the Dreadfort. And as it happens that has nothing to do with the actor portraying him. Yes, the actor is good looking and I never saw anything he stared in, so I cannot say if he is a good actor or not. But I would be looking forward to Ramsay in anyway, no matter who they would have casted. I really like Ramsay’s character.

There I said it. I like the most unlikeable character in the whole story (which is a title well earned considering he had to fight with people like Jaime or Cersei to get it).

In Westeros every character is made of different layers. George Martin has a great way of giving depth to his protagonist. No one has just a good side or just a bad side, you can understand every motivation, and find something great in everyone. Except for Ramsay. I can not come up with one thing that makes him less evil. He is cruel, he’s mean, and that is it. (yes, (SPOILER alert!) he saved us from Theon, but honestly the Greyjoy did not deserve that)

I think he is really fascinating and I cannot wait to find out how that will be transported to the screen. Sadly 

2. Mormonts Ring Of Fire

I looked forward to Sam’s first chapter since I found out he was turning into a POV character. And the chapter got me hooked from the first line. I was really feeling with Sam and wanted him to go on walking so bad. But than he thought: “The Old Bear’s ring of fire(…)” (Page 238) and in my mind started playing the Jonny Cash song…

But anyway that ring would make a great atmosphere. Just imagine Sam walking through the Haunted Forest, snow coming down everywhere, and the distant gloom of the torches… That would look just great on screen! I know that he is not with the other Night’s Watch members at the end of season 2, but I hope he finds them again. Can you imagine Sam being alone north of the wall all by himself? I cannot stand the thought! Poor Sam…
Of course there will be many other awesome scenes, like Dany freeing the Unsullied, Bran's green dreams, the red wedding (though I'm not really looking forward to that scene :( ) and the death's of many great characters.

Suprise! Books and broken rules...

Hey there :)
I kinda broke one the rules today :) But just kinda :D
You know last year I signed up for a Weltbild edition. Which means that one of the big German booksellers sends me one fantasy book each month for a lower price and they all look pretty awesome.

Today I was just relaxing on my couch watching tv and looking pretty horrible (you know the "I'm-not-doing-anything-today-so-I-don't-need-to-look-acceptable) when the door rang. And what did I found there? A big and mysterious package:

And what was in there? The last books I needed to finish the edition! Because Weltbild decided that they did not want me to wait any longer for the rest of the books.

So I kinda bought books today without finishing one before, which breaks my reading rule . But I did not intend to buy them today so I think that does not really count...
Anyway look how awesome they all look on my shelf now:

I love them! They are all so pretty!

Now all I need to do is, well you know, read them :)

Still Reading... LA Candy by Lauren Conrad

When I started this book I was sure I would finish it really fast. Because it seemed like a good book. I wanted something light, something that I could read without thinking too much. So I asked my best friend if she could give me one of her Chick-Lit books.
I normaly do not read Chick-Lit.
Now I remember why.

Do not get me wrong, I'm not saying that this book is bad or badly written or that I do not care about the characters. I just don't care about the things that are happening too them. I haven't gotten that far. I'm only on page 85 of 326 so maybe all the drama is yet to come. And I love drama. But I'm sure I will never make it that far.
It's just not my genre. I like heroes and battles, dragons and tragedy. I want someone to fight and I want the world to be in danger. This book is about all those things, the characters need to be strong, they need to fight, and save their own little world. It's just not as interesting for me.

Well, it is still on my Currently Reading pile and I haven't given it back, so I guess I will end up giving it another try. Hopefully I will finish it and maybe, it will suprise me and I end up loving it.

Just the use of the phrase "BFF" in a book summary makes me dislike this one. It's just not my kind of book, I guess.

Reading Rules

Sooo I have so much stuff to do and I never finish anything because I'll just stop and read a book instead. Strangely that does happn with books, too. There is a huge pile of Currently reading books on my nightshelf and it does not get smaller but bigger and bigger and bigger. Therefore I thought I should set up some rules. And because I know I will find a way to work around these rules when no one's watching I need you to bare witness again. I'm giving you a list of all the books I have started but not yet finished and I will only begin a new one if i finished two from the list before. That is Rule 1.
But I wouldn't be me if that was the only rule.

My next problem is: I love to buy books. Nothing is as great as spending time in a bookstore and find new books. That's the reason why I usually don't have a lot of money in my pocket and even more important I have like 30 (!) unread books at home. So Rule 2 is: I am only allowed to buy a new book if I read two others before.

And the next list that needs to be smaller: My TBR on Goodreads. I have so many books that I want to read one day! So in order to get that list a little smaller (not that I think that will ever happen) or to at least keep it as huge as it now is I am only allowed to add one book to that list if finished one before. That's Rule 3. This rule already existed ones... and that didn't work out so good :D

See, all I need to do is read, easy, hugh?
So you will get a list of posts tagged with Still Reading where I talk about the books I haven't finished and, even more important, why I haven't finished them yet. Hopefully that will give me some motivation to finish them.
The first two would be Labyrinth by Kate Mosse and the Hobbit-movie-book. Those two will not get a post because the only reason I haven't finished them yet is the fact that I didn't have the time.

Do you have rules controling your reading? What do you think of this idea? I already think that this is a stupid idea, but I'm way behind on the 50in1 challenge. I need to catch up! I do not wanna lose and sing O.O

Delirium Casting NEWS!

Seriously how come so many books are turned into movies or series lately? Not that I complain...
Well, well Delirium by Lauren Oliver is one of those books that will be turned into a series by FOX. Sadly I have to say that I did not read this book. It's still sitting there on my TBR pile waiting and looking at me with it's judgy little eyes...
But you're just here to read the news not me babbling and babbling aren't you?
Lauren Oliver just tweeted that Emma Roberts will star as Lena Holoway in the pilot. To get all the details click the link.
Lauren Oliver said that Emma Roberts is a talented actress and that she is really excited. Since I haven't read the books it's up to you to tell me, if she fits the role or not!

And to those of you that have no single clue what I'm talking about here are the details on Delirium:

They say that the cure for Love will make me happy and safe forever. 

And I've always believed them.

Why Katie McGrath makes me reading...

You all know today is Wednesday and that means it is time for a new round of "Waiting on Wednesday"... But I cannot do this today! I have way to many books that are still waiting on my shelves to be read and I just don't want my TBR to get even bigger, again.
So instead of talking about TBRs the WoW way I thought we do it the Penguin way and answer the TBR questions from Penguin Teen Australias posts.

Puh, that was a long explanation :D Let us start with the questions:

1. What have you just finished reading? 
I just finished reading A Storm of Swords by George R. R. Martin. I love his books but that one nearly killed me. I'm sure all fans of the series that read the books can rely to that devastating feeling I had after finishing it. I don't want to spoiler anything so all I'm saying is: "There are certain fictional characters deaths you will never recover from". But what he did with Cat at the end was great. It was so spooky and I'm sure it will look awesome on screen.

2.What have you just started reading?
(I am always starting way to many books and finishing way to less! I have like 5 books on my Currently Reading Shelf)
I just started reading Labyrinth by Kate Mosse. And I am already in love with this book! I watched an add for the movie a few weeks ago and Katie McGrath was part of the cast so I basically HAD to watch it. But I didn't. Because I heard that the movie was based on a book and I always love reading books before watching the movies. So I bought the book. And it has been awesome, so far! I love the two protagonists, especially Alais (since Alice hasn't been on the pages a lot), I love the mysterious atmosphere and the medieval setting and the concept of having a deja vú through time and... it is just great. If you're into historical fiction spiced with some fantasy you should definitely

3. What do you wish you could be reading right now?
Soooo much! But I gotta go with The Lady of the Rivers by Philippa Gregory since it just sounds awesome! Go check out the Goodreads summary!

Vampire Academy Movie Cast

Aloha :)

Yeah, I know I am a little late on this, but have you saw the cast for the Vampire Academy movie news? They finally cast Rose, Lissa and Dimitri!
Zoey Deutch will play Rose, Lucy Fry will play Lissa and Danila Kozlovskiy will play Dimitri. I never saw any of them in a movie so I cannot say if they are good actors or not, but I am still really happy with that casting. All right, I admitt it I am freaking out over here!
They definitely have the looks and (which makes me even more glad) they have the right age. You surely now all those actors playing high school kids and looking like they are 25 or older. I was really afraid that would happen with the VA cast, too.



Zoey Deutch will surely play a great Rose. Rose is one of my favourite characters and for a long time VA was (and still is) one of my favourite series. (Seriously click on the tag and you'll find a lot of posts were I fangirl over the books). The only thing I dislike about Zoey being Rose is that she's too skinny to be Rose. One of the big reasons Rose is such a great role model for girls is that she's not the typical super skinny girlie girl you see eveywhere on tv. So I'm kinda scared that will not be such a big point in the movie, which is really sad.
But I'm still sure she will be a great Rose!

I asked the author Danielle Sibarium (who is amazingly nice by the way) what she likes about writing and why she is doing it. Here is what she said: 

Writing has been a part of me from my earliest days. I remember as a young child watching the lineup of ABC Soap Operas through the day with my grandmother. Long after the shows would end, I’d still have this inner dialogue going on in my head. As I got older, I began to write that inner dialogue down. I remember getting weekly readers in third or fourth grade. They used to have plays at the end of them. My best friend and I would act the plays out, and then write our own scripts.
 By the time sixth grade rolled around, I’d been in my third elementary school, living in my third new home, and had to deal with a few very close, very hard hitting deaths in my life. I learned to just blend in with the background. I didn’t say much and was painfully shy. It was this school year that I found I had some skill in writing. My teacher had us write a creative writing once a month. After getting a terrible grade on the very first one, and having to redo it, I wrote with passion, earning me an A or A+ on each and every one thereafter. My teacher often read mine aloud to the class, and they enjoyed it. This was my way of fitting in without actually having to speak and put myself out there.
 I continued to write, dabbling in poetry and even wrote my first novel in seventh and eighth grade. (It’s hidden so safely, not even I know where it is.) From the sixth grade on, all wanted to do was write.
 I love writing because it’s who I am at my core. I write because if I didn’t my soul would shrivel up and die. Aside from standing back and holding one of my books in my hands, my favorite part of all this is connecting with the readers. I love to hear from people who have been affected by my work. It’s when others feel the need to reach out and share their experience with me, to tell me that my words made them laugh, or cry that I know I have touched their lives in some small way. There’s no greater feeling than that!  

More About the Author:

Danielle Sibarium grew up as an only child of divorced parents in Brooklyn, New York. Her imagination was developed at an early age. Surrounded by stuffed animals and imaginary friends, she transported herself into a fantasy world full of magic and wonder. Books were the gateway between her play world and reality. On any given summer afternoon she became Snow White sweeping and cooking for the dwarfs, or Cinderella waiting for the prince.

Danielle always loved dialogue and in elementary school began writing plays and short stories. This is when she began to understand she could not only bring her fantastical world to life for herself, but she could enchant others as well. And so she wrote. She wrote and wrote and wrote.

Sadly the first piece she ever sent out for publication of any sort was a letter to the editor of The Home News Tribune. It was a piece thanking the first responders for their bravery and selflessness on Sept 11th. It was chosen as letter of the week.

In 2007 Danielle collaborated with Charlotte Doreen Small to write songs for her CD More. Danielle wrote the lyrics for Take My Hand, and Goodbye, while Charlotte contributed the melody.  In October 2011 Danielle’s debut novel For Always was released.
