Vorfreude 01 Sweet Black Waves

Vorfreude is the German word for the thrill of anticipation and in this monthly category I will introduce you to new books I am looking forward to. All books can be found on the bookbirthday page, which will be updated with new information as soon as I get it ;)
Today's feature is

You must look at this in a close up, I am in love with the details and the wonderful hair! It looks truly amazing and belongs to Sweet Black Waves, written by Kristina Pérez. (Goodreads link!)

Imprint unveiled this gorgeous cover on the first of December, the novel is expected to hit shelves on June, 5th 2018. And how gorgeous is it? I must say this book could be a cover-buy for me. I was intrigued and I love the associations it evokes in me of my last vacation in Denmark. The storming see, the desperate (or adventurous?) girl and the billowing dress all weave in together. So naturally I had to check out this book, and the blurb is intriguing me even more!

Not you without me, not me without you.

Two proud kingdoms stand on opposite shores, with only a bloody history between them.

As best friend and lady-in-waiting to the princess, Branwen is guided by two principles: devotion to her homeland and hatred for the raiders who killed her parents. When she unknowingly saves the life of her enemy, he awakens her ancient healing magic and opens her heart. Branwen begins to dream of peace, but the princess she serves is not so easily convinced. Fighting for what's right, even as her powers grow beyond her control, will set Branwen against both her best friend and the only man she's ever loved.

Inspired by the star-crossed tale of Tristan and Eseult, this is the story of the legend’s true heroine: Branwen. For fans of Graceling and The Mists of Avalon, this is the first book of a lush fantasy trilogy about warring countries, family secrets, and forbidden romance.

Excuse me? Tristan and Eseult?! Here, take my money! I am a sucker for lady in waiting stories, I loved the Mists of Avalaon and Beroul's account of Tristan and Eseult's love, I... I NEED THIS. So yes, I am definitely looking forward to the release of this beauty. Have you added it to your tbr?
